Everyone has their favorite television program that has emerged from a British studio within the past few years, whether it’s Sherlock, Doctor Who or Downton Abbey. But there are many others, not so documented, which deserve even as much attention.

We put together an inventory of ten of the simplest .

Peaky Blinders 2013 – 2019

This is another little gem of a show. It depicts the story of the Shelby family, which tries to urge before the remainder by any means possible within the gloomy, almost apocalyptic city of Birmingham at the turn of the 20 th century. Each season is formed from six episodes, but the thrill never lets up for one minute.

Line of Duty 2012 – Present

After a mistaken shooting during a counter-terrorist operation, Detective Sergeant Steve Arnott is transferred to AC-12, a police anti-corruption unit led by Superintendent Ted Hastings. Alongside Detective Constable Kate Fleming, they are assigned to lead an investigation into the alleged corruption by a popular and successful officer, Detective Chief Inspector Tony Gates. While Gates cleverly manipulates his unit’s figures, DS Arnott questions whether Gates is being made a scapegoat for a culture of institutionalized spin, or is guilty of darker corruption.

Call the Midwife 2012 – present

A light-hearted show about the lives of midwives and their patients. Their days are crammed with tragic, dramatic, but also comic moments.
